Kanban Management Professional Course / KMP Course Overview
The Kanban Systems Improvement (KMP2 course) is a 4-day Kanban training class for managers, developers, and anyone wanting to learn both Kanban System Design (KMP1) and Kanban Systems Improvement (KMP2) courses together. From this course, you will get a set of values, practices, and principles that bring the benefits of Lean theory to organisations.
During the KMP course, you will learn you will discover the core of Kanban practices to design and evolve a Kanban system and will go on to consider techniques for managing change, removing delays in your system, and scaling Kanban principles and practices.
In the first two days of the course (KMP1 course), created by leading Kanban experts including David J. Anderson, you will be shown how Kanban fits within the Agile context and how it complements your existing Agile or non-Agile ways of working.
The final two days of the course (KMP2 course) focuses on improving Kanban systems. You will consider techniques for managing change, removing delays in your system, and scaling Kanban principles and practices. Consolidating what you have learned in the KMP1 course, you will discover how to improve organisational agility with the Kanban cadences, understanding Kanban metrics, and evolving appropriate Kanban policies.

Kanban Management Professional Course / KMP Course Overview
Objectives
Trainees on the Kanban Management Professional course are challenged to think in terms of using Kanban to better understand what to do when they return to their workplaces.
The KMP1 classes (Kanban Systems Design) cover:
- Understanding Kanban systems – foundation Kanban principles and core Kanban practices;
- Experience Kanban and flow in a Kanban simulation;
- Kanban metrics and charts;
- Learn and use STATIK (Systems Thinking Approach to Introducing Kanban) to design your Kanban system;
The KMP2 classes (Kanban Systems Improvement) cover:
- Managing Evolutionary Change;
- Dealing with Resistance to Change;
- Feedback Loops and Continuous Learning;
- Implementing and Scaling out Kanban;
- Balancing Demand and Capability;
- Optimizing Flow and Predictability.
Kanban Management Professional Certification (KMP)
Attendees who attend the Kanban Management Professional (KMP) course will receive:
- Kanban Management Professional (KMP) designation;
- Digital KMP status certificate attached to Kanban University website profile.
Note – The KMP course is the combination of two courses that leads to the Kanban Management Professional (KMP) designation. Upon completion of both KMP1 and KMP2, participants will receive the Kanban Management Professional (KMP) accreditation from Kanban University, a globally-recognised accreditation of achievement.
Attendees who attend the Kanban Management Professional (KMP) course and go on to pass the KMP I and KMP II certifications assessment will receive:
Kanban System Design (KMP I) certificate;
Kanban Systems Improvement (KMP II) certificate;
Inclusion in the list of Kanban University members

Kanban Management Professional Course / KMP Course FAQs
The Kanban Management Professional course (KMP course) is a four-day Kanban training class, certified by Lean Kanban University. The Kanban Management Professional (KMP) designation is achieved through the completion of the two classes (KMP1 course and KMP2 course). It is for managers, developers, and anyone wanting to learn how to improve the Kanban systems. The KMP course lays the foundations of the Kanban Method… teaching you the principles, practices, and processes.
In order to obtain KMP certification, you do NOT need to take an assessment. Those students taking a Kanban University accredited KMP1 and KMP2 courses will become certified KMP eligible to become members of the Kanban University.
There is no exam associated with KMP certification.
