Scaled Agile Framework FAQs
SAFe stands for Scaled Agile Framework. They are a set of organisation and workflow patterns for implementing agile practices at an enterprise scale.
Agile is an iterative approach to project management and software development methodologies that helps teams deliver value to their customers faster in short cycles and incrementally. Whereas Scaled Agile Framework focuses on complex organisations/enterprises by leveraging lean-agile principles and systems development at scale.
Scrum is a popular Agile framework that insists on iterative delivery of value to customers, whereas the SAFe is a scaling framework for implementing scrum along with Kanban ventures. Both these approaches are for specific project management in modern software development.
The four core values of SAFe are alignment, built-in quality, transparency, and program execution. They represent the fundamental beliefs that are key to SAFe’s effectiveness. These guiding principles help the participants dictate behavior and action in a SAFe portfolio.
SAFe is just above the Scrum and Kanban approaches and is applied at the enterprise scale. We use these methodologies according to the need. Scrum is used at the team level and Kanban is used at the Essential, Portfolio, Program, and Large Solution levels of SAFe.
There are 12 steps in the implementation roadmap of Scaled Agile Framework. Organisations have to adapt the lean-agile principles, identify the value streams, and establish Agile Release Trains (ARTs) with a continuous value delivery and DevOps for successful implementation of Scaled Agile Framework.
According to Statistics, we can see that a certified SAFe Agilist gets paid well about 25% more than professionals who do not hold SAFe Agilist Certification.
The SAFe courses are just the same cost-wise when compared to most of the Scrum courses. The course helps people who have expert knowledge about Agile practices and want to expand their horizons in terms of lean-agile practices at an enterprise level.
SAFe certification is the globally recognised Professional Certification Program that provides Scaled Agile Framework skills, knowledge, and mindset which will help in transformation of organisations into Lean-Agile enterprise.
The trainee has to attend the Leading SAFe® course and pass the SAFe Agilist online exam conducted by Scaled Agile.
There are many SAFe courses available according to the learners requirement. The courses are categorised as foundational, intermediate, and advanced level for the people who play different roles in the organisation at enterprise level.
The course registration fees are between £695 to £1195 depending on the format, trainer, location, and other variables. The first exam attempt is inclusive of the course registration fee if the exam is taken within 30 days of course completion. Each retake attempt will incur a cost.
