Professional Scrum™ with Kanban (PSK) Course Overview
The Professional Scrum with Kanban™ course (PSK) is a two day teaching event that helps Scrum practitioners understand how to apply Kanban practices to their work. Through an interesting and engaging mixture of Scrum with Kanban theory, case studies, and hands-on exercises, participants on the Professional Scrum with Kanban will learn the importance of transparency and flow as it pertains to the Scrum framework.
Scrum is the defacto standard for how Agile teams work. Scrum exists only in its entirety and functions well as a container for other techniques and practices such as Kanban. Scrum teams keep improving how they work, based on what they learn by inspecting and adapting on an ongoing basis. Kanban can be used with Scrum to improve the effectiveness of a Scrum team’s delivery of value.
This PSK course has been created and maintained by Scrum co-creator Ken Schwaber, along with the Scrum.org PST community, and Daniel Vacanti, who in 2007 helped to develop the Kanban Method for knowledge work.
The Scrum.org process helps to ensure that the PSK course is always in tune with what’s happening in software development organisations and always up-to-date with the latest practices.
This PSK course also includes two free attempts at the globally recognized Professional Scrum with Scrum ertification exam (PSK I).

The Professional Scrum with Kanban training course (PSK course) leaves trainees with a strong understanding of:
- Dispelling Common Myths surrounding Scrum and Kanban;
- Understanding Professional Scrum;
- Kanban Theory, Principles and Practices;

- Scrum with Kanban.
Objectives
Trainees take home an increased understanding of how to use Kanban within the container of Scrum and will achieve the following objectives:
- Gain a clear understanding of how flow works within the context of Scrum;
- Be introduced to Kanban practices that Scrum Teams can adopt to help improve their effectiveness and efficiency;
- Understand how to effectively use the appropriate Kanban practices without changing;
- Learn a practical approach to improving transparency and visibility of work.
Professional Scrum with Kanban Certification
All participants completing the Professional Scrum with Kanban course (PSK course) will receive a password to attempt the Professional Scrum with Kanban I (PSK I) certification assessment. PSK class participants who attempt the PSK I assessment within 14 days of receiving their free password and do not score at least 85% will be granted a 2nd attempt at no additional cost.
Attendees who attend the Professional Scrum with Kanban course (PSK course), and go on to pass the PSK I certification assessment will receive:
Professional Scrum with Kanban (PSK I) certificate;
Inclusion in the list of Professional Scrum Certificate Holders
The industry-recognised PSK I certification requires a challenging minimum passing score which ensures the certifications have true value in the marketplace. If you pass the PSK certification your name will be posted publicly for colleagues, managers, and potential employers to see.

In order to get the most value from the PSK training course, we recommend that prior to attendance, attendees:
- Have a solid understanding and experience in Scrum;
- Take time to read and begin to be familiar with the Scrum Guide (required);
